Make Learning in School Fun!

With the birth of Child Protection Policy in 2012 or known as the Policy and Guidelines on Protecting Children in school from Abuse, Bullying, Violence, Exploitation, Discrimination, and other forms of Abuse, various campaigns and seminars have been initiated by different schools to let teachers, students and everybody be aware about the things that should and shouldn't be done inside the premises of the school.

The Department Of Education, Region 1 launched the "Happy School Movement" to boost the efficient implementation of the K to 12 basic education curriculum in the Ilocos Provinces. This movement aims to create an environment wherein a student can freely express themselves, it seeks to promote every school in the region as a better and enjoyable place of learning.
With the theme "Paaraang Masayang Maglingkod, Tagumpay ng Bata'y Itaguyod", the launch of this movement was held at Vigan Convention Center in Vigan City last May 20. Dr. Malcolm Garma, DepEd Region 1, Regional Director stated that the launching of the HSM platform was very much timely for  the opening of classes school year 2019-2020 was set on June 3. He also cited the HSM platform as the key of achieving the DepEd region 1 vision of having a generation of responsive and cross-culture competent future builders.

Through this program, the learners’ full potential is given the greatest attention by creating a happier and more positive school culture. The movement aims to inculcate in the minds of pupils that school is not just a place for learning but also a place for fun and enjoyment as they enjoy what they are doing.
