Journey to Utopia

Hardships, battles, blood scattered, dead bodies everywhere. But that was before. Now finally I can say the word “free”.

Hundreds of years ago, the Philippines captured the attention of many. For her beauty was natural and one of a kind. This lead to envy, of others. This lead to selfishness, wanting the Philippines all for themselves. She was colonized and her people became slaves. Filipinos suffered from endless hardships. Endless battles, many innocent lives were taken and Filipinos were put up to a hard decision of choosing either life or death. But we must praise the bravery of our ancestors, who we now call our heroes. They sacrificed their lives for us. For us to feel freedom once again. They sacrificed their lives because of their love for our country.

Children of now, children of tomorrow, and children of the next generation, we are lucky to not have experienced what our ancestors experienced hundreds of years ago. We should all remember the glorious day of June 12. For 12th of June in 1989, the Philippines was once again free. We must always stand tall and proudly sing our National Anthem, as the Philippine Flag makes its way to the top. Reminding us that once upon a time, Philippines was in chaos, but she survived and is still fighting whatever comes her way.

Our Journey in finding Utopia is still not over. But I can say that we are almost there. Philippines is no perfect place, it has lots of things and parts to change and improve. But if we Filipinos unite and work as one, I can tell that we can make Utopia happen.
